I had a great experience last night. We arrived early and had our choice of seats. Still chilly outside so we chose next best thing-a table with a view in the bar. I had possibly the best roast beef sandwich I’ve had in quite a while. My friend ordered fish and chips and remarked on its light and crispy texture. His beers were chilled to perfection and while we were there we heard a bartender training staff (we were super early). I know they have changed hands and I believe these people are eager to please. Our waitress was enthusiastic and experienced. The atmosphere was bright and clean I would recommend giving the Lake House a try!
We are so glad The Lake House is back open! We had Maggie, as our waitress, she was exceptional. All of the wait staff were incredible, the food was delicious. It's nice to see the favorites from the Lake House on the menu and the expanded menu! My wife and I are looking forward to returning soon
This was my family's first-time visiting St. Joseph, MI, and it just happened to be the opening of this fine establishment. We were greeted with smiling faces, and everyone was friendly. Our waitress, Karima, was a joy to have. She was knowledgeable about the food and was kind to us. The lady at the bar was nice too (we love our East Coasters ). We had chicken tenders with fries, my wife had an Alfredo Pasta, and I had the Spinach Artichoke Dip. We all loved our dishes. We highly recommend this place to anybody.
This is such a beautiful place. The interiors are extremely beautiful. And the view of the magnificent Lake Michigan from this restaurant is truly spectacular... the food was delicious ( especially the mushroom croquettes), and the cocktails were fantastic. The chef was kind enough to make some special vegetarian sandwiches as 50% of our friend circle did not eat meat and requested for the sandwiches instead. Very pleased with our server’s patience as well. ..we had an amazing evening.. we shall be coming back again soon ...
My daughter and I came here specifically to see the sunset. The restaurant is right next to a Holiday Inn. No one was outside on the patio. We requested it. We both ordered the same meal: chopped steak. It came with a brown gravy, onions and mushrooms. I got a baked potato which was very soft. She got mashed tatoes covered with brown gravy. It came with zucchini and summer yellow squash. We started with creamy potato soup. We were happy with all the food. There were only two problems. 1. It was extremely windy and the temp had dropped. Had to run to the car for extra jackets. But we solved our problem. 2. The small bees came out looking for food, typical for September. Just a slight nuisance. We had gotten there too early which was good and bad. Good because they got really busy. Bad because it got colder and windier. We ended up finishing our meal and going in the car to wait for sunset. Then we walked across the street to catch that beautiful sunset. Lovely evening.
We hosted our mom’s 70th birthday here this past weekend and could not have had a better event! The service from start to finish was attentive and prompt. The food was excellent - we received many comments from family members about the bang bang shrimp, lake perch and fish & chips! The owners of this restaurant and servers that evening went ABOVE and beyond to make it perfect night for our family. They provided a private room with a view of the lake which was the perfect backdrop. The servers even set up a cake cutting and serving station for dessert. It was truly top notch and we couldn’t be more thankful to Lakehouse for such a wonderful evening. Can’t wait to come back this summer!
Great Service That Makes You Want to Come Back I stopped by this restaurant during lunchtime a few weeks ago, just as they were getting ready to close before dinner service. I used to come here years ago when it was Mansion Grill, so being back in town, I wanted to check it out again. It’s been over a decade, but I’m glad I made the stop. This time, I was actually the only person in the restaurant, and I ordered the salmon Caesar salad, it was decent, and the salmon was a healthy size. The reason I say just decent is because it lacked seasoned flavor, and I had to try to flavor it myself. However, it was cooked overall perfectly. I also had an IPA beer, which was very good. But what really stood out wasn’t the food, it was the service. The young man working the bar was excellent. His conversation, attentiveness, and overall demeanor made the place feel warm, friendly, and inviting. He’s truly a great asset to the establishment and a big reason I’ll definitely return. Service like that makes all the difference. Awesome job, he gets 5 stars alone!
With their new menu and new receipe this is going to be one of the go to restaurant for me. Their spinach Artichoke dip was amazing!! They have variety of new dishes including butter chicken and mango chicken. Looking forward to try more dishes.
